COVID-19 Vaccine Equity and Youth Activation
COMPLETED PROJECT
The COVID-19 vaccine equity and youth activation initiative is a vaccine outreach effort in partnership with Project 2043, We Got Us Project, Boston Medical Center, the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, the Boston Public Health Commission, and the Black Boston Covid Coalition.
The COVID-19 pandemic has exposed the deep inequities that drive health disparities. And it has energized young people to improve their own health and the health of their families, neighbors, and communities.
Through this collaborative initiative, young adults are given the space to be the creators, the messengers, and leaders of a new vision for community health and wellness.
Along with our partners, we are hosting weekly clinics at The Muse a collaborative space on Blue Hill Ave in Dorchester to create a consistent and trusted space for health resources and information for the community, by the community.
Collaborating Organizations
“We are changing the whole process of how we learn about public health issues. We are being educated by people of color in the (medical) system and we are sharing that knowledge with community members. We are helping to build a more conscious community.”
